Three more Coppa Italia Frecciarossa ties today

Genoa vs Reggiana at 15:00, Lecce vs Parma at 18:00 and Udinese vs Cagliari in the late kick-off

After yesterday’s matches, the second round of the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa is continuing today with three more ties.

We start with Genoa vs Reggiana at Marassi at 15:00 CEST. The Rossoblù, after making it past Modena in August, are looking to knock out another Emilian side on the road to the round of 16 and a game against Lazio.

Reggiana, the only remaining side to have entered the competition in the preliminary round, beat Pescara by six goals to two before a 2-1 win over Monza at the U-Power Stadium.

After the meeting between Pippo Inzaghi and Andrea Pirlo yesterday for Salernitana vs Sampdoria, tonight’s game at the Ferraris is another confrontation between two World Champion head coaches. Alberto Gilardino will come up against Alessandro Nesta as he looks to guide Genoa all the way to a second Coppa Italia title after first winning it all the way back in 1936/37.

At 18:00 CET it’s Lecce vs Parma at the Via Del Mare. The two sides are facing off in the hopes that they make it to the round of 16 where last season’s finalists Fiorentina await.

The Giallorossi, who are without a win since 22 September (1-0 against Genoa), eliminated Como in the first round. The Emilian outfit, who are currently top of Serie A with a five-point lead over Venezia and Catanzaro, beat Bari 1-0 in August to make it to the second round.

The two sides meet in the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa for the first time since the side from Puglia won 3-1 at the Tardini two seasons ago (Parma have won three times, most recently in 2001/02).

The action on Wednesday concludes with Udinese vs Cagliari, which kicks off at 21:00 CET. The Sardinian side recently recorded their first victory of the season with a stunning comeback against Frosinone, while the Bianconeri are still without a win in Serie A TIM this season.

Cagliari struggled in the first round, needing extra time to make it past Palermo, Udinese comfortably beat Catanzaro (4-0) for the only victory of 2023/24 to date.

The winner of this tie will face AC Milan in the round of 16.
