&lt;p&gt;Italy`s victory at Euro 2020 shone a light on the great potential of the Italian youth and the development in every department of Serie A. Mancini’s midfield, part of his secret to that extraordinary success, included stars such as Barella, Locatelli, Jorginho and Pessina who entered the senior side after success in club youth teams. Today, just like then, a new generation of players that came up through our youth system are taking centre stage in Italian football. Notably, four of them are Italian citizens.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;At just 17, &lt;strong&gt;Andrea Cambiaso&lt;/strong&gt; left the &lt;strong&gt;Genoa &lt;/strong&gt;youth sector for a journey through the lower leagues. The young Ligurian grew up through his experiences in Serie D and Serie C with Albissola, Savona and Alessandria, before a brief spell at Empoli where they won promotion from Serie B, only to jump into Serie A with the Grifone, his hometown side. In his first year in the top flight, Andrea showed a strong &lt;strong&gt;attacking skill&lt;/strong&gt; with 1 goal and 4 assists in 26 appearances, as well as &lt;strong&gt;versatility&lt;/strong&gt;, knowing how to play as a full-back or a winger on either side. The following year at Bologna, &lt;strong&gt;Thiago Motta&lt;/strong&gt; mainly used him as a left-back, finishing the season with 32 appearances and 3 assists in Serie A. This year, he made the jump to &lt;strong&gt;Juventus &lt;/strong&gt;where he initially played on the left before shifting to the right permanently from November onwards. At Juventus, he has picked up 2 goals and 3 assists in 26 league games, plus another goal and assist in the 102 minutes of game time in the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa. The highlight of Cambiaso’s season has been a &lt;a href=&#34;https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESrRrmQ8SHc&#34; data-new-window=&#34;true&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34; rel=&#34;noopener noreferrer&#34;&gt;tap-in that sealed Juventus’ win over Hellas Verona in the 96th minute&lt;/a&gt;. In January 2020 he went out on loan to &lt;strong&gt;Cremonese &lt;/strong&gt;in Serie B where Bisoli treated him as an offensive &lt;strong&gt;jack of all trades&lt;/strong&gt;, playing as a midfielder, attacking midfielder, or winger depending on the game. His second season was in Serie B with Dionisi in the dugout, Samuele grew into the role of a midfielder down the left of a 3-man line, also improving his output up front with 2 goals and 4 assists. After 12 games with Empoli in the top flight, &lt;strong&gt;Torino &lt;/strong&gt;decided to bring Ricci in under Juric who adapted him to fit his 4-man midfield.
