With his performances this season – his fifth consecutive one for the Club – he has finally been able to seal down his spot with Napoli, putting himself forward as a potential lynchpin for future years. Injuries have also left him in peace this season, allowing him to play consistently as he made 34 appearances, the first time since his first year in Ferrara with SPAL in Serie B in the 2016/17 season. After alternating with Ospina in previous years, this season Luciano Spalletti decided to put his faith in him and it started to pay dividends very early on with his penalty save on matchday 4 against Lecce. In total, he kept 15 clean sheets in Serie A TIM, conceding only 24 goals of the 28 let in by the Partenopei, which saw Napoli with the best defence of the campaign.
