&lt;p&gt;Big celebration at the Luigi Ferraris where, at the end of the 2-1 win over Ascoli and Bari`s simultaneous draw in Modena, Genoa were able to celebrate their return to Serie A TIM after just one season.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;With two matchdays still to come and an eight-point lead over the Apulians, the Rossoblu become unreachable and can start celebrating.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Great credit for the triumphant ride goes to Alberto Gilardino, who was called up in place of Alexander Blessin on 6 December, with the Grifone fifth in the standings with 23 points after 15 games and just two points from five games.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The impact of the new coach was immediately singificant: Genoa produced seven consecutive positive results in a row (5 wins and 2 draws) and settled in second place behind Frosinone, which they never let go of.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The offensive pair formed by Massimo Coda, 10 goals and his second consecutive promotion after last season with Lecce, and Albert Gusmunsson, 9 goals, were the decisive factors, but also the experience of players such as Sturaro, Badelj, Strootman and Criscito, who returned in January from Toronto at minimum wage, mixed with the freshness of very interesting youngsters such as Dragusin, Salcedo and Frendrup, to name but a few.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;After 15 uninterrupted years in Serie A TIM (the last promotion dates back to the 2006/07 Serie B championship, with Juventus and Napoli), the Rossoblu were out of the top league for just one season.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Now Genoa will contend for championship victory against Frosinone coached by another World Champion, Fabio Grosso, in next week`s head to head in Ciociaria, for a match that will be a precursor of what will happen next year in Serie A TIM.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For the third promotion, however, they will have to wait until Sunday 11 June, the day of the second leg of the playoff final: at the moment, behind the first two already certain of arithmetical promotion, there are Bari, Sud Tirol, Cagliari, Parma, Palermo and then a trio composed of Pisa, Venezia and Ascoli.
