This is what Sinisa Mihajlovic said after the team’s 2-0 win over Fiorentina in round 20 of Serie A TIM on Sunday night:

"I want to thank all the players. They were all excellent. We have ended a testing week in style and it was far from easy. I also want to thank the President. A great President is not someone who only helps win trophies, but one who also says the right things in key moments. He eased the pressure on us at the right moment. If you prepare the match in a certain way and the team carries out the game-plan, then that is very rewarding to a coach. The team have always given their all".

"Sometimes things goes well, and sometimes they don’t, but the players have always been model professionals. We knew Fiorentina would keep the ball well, but we didn’t just sit back and we tried to press from the front and we punished them with our counter attacks. Fiorentina had always scored in the league and we kept them quiet tonight. Credit for that feat goes to the team. We deserved this victory and it’s a big win against a big side. A convincing win like this is a confidence boost. If we play like today and like we have done in other matches, we can have our say against any one. I hope the second half of the season sees us turn the corner and if we keep this up, we can achieve some good things. There is still a long way to go this season and we must take it one game at a time. I hope these past results ease the pressure and bring serenity to the group because the players need that. It’s down to us to bring the fans back to the stadium and turn any jeers into cheers. These results boost morale and we have always believed in our work. Despite everything, we have always stayed calm and the squad has always been united and together. The players have shown character".

"Honda works hard and can always be relied upon. He follows the instructions you give him and I am happy with him. I am also happy for Boateng because he deserved his goal. He has trained for months with us without ever missing a session. I was pleased to see Balotelli come back too and now we’re just waiting on the return of Menez. I hope to have a full squad available soon to see how far we can go. The team are improving. We have changed formation three times since the start of the season. When I have Boateng, Balotelli and Menez fully fit I aim to revert back to the 4-3-1-2 formation. Until then, I think 4-4-2 is one that offers us the best chance of winning. Bacca is an important player. He is ruthless in front of goal. He is a key element of the side, also for his work rate. He attacks the space behind the defence well and when he is played the right pass he always scores."
