Udinese vs. Como to prove their progress
Udinese and Como close out matchday 3 of the Serie A Enilive alongside Juve and Roma
It’ll be an interesting clash between Udinese and Como at the Bluenergy Stadium after two good results so far: the hosts will want another win after last weekend’s victory over Lazio, following on from the draw against Bologna on opening day.
The Lombardy side, on the other hand, won their first point against Cagliari after the defeat to Juventus and will be on the hunt for their first win.
DID YOU KNOW?
After three defeats in a row, Udinese are unbeaten in their last seven league games (W3 D4); the Friulians last had a longer streak of consecutive games without defeat in Serie A between August-October 2022 (nine in that case), while they could win two matches in a row in the top-flight for the first time since March 2023 (against Empoli and AC Milan).
After the draw against Cagliari, Como could remain unbeaten in two consecutive Serie A matches for the first time since March 2003 (a win against Piacenza and a draw against Brescia, in that case under Eugenio Fascetti).
Only Torino (eight) have received more yellow cards than Como and Udinese (both six) in Serie A this season.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Udinese and Como will return to face each other in a Serie A match more than 20 years after the last one on 19 April 2003: the Friulians won 3-2 at home under Luciano Spalletti (Marek Jankulolovski, Giampiero Pinzi and Vincenzo Iaquinta scored for the Bianconeri; Fabio Pecchia and Vedin Music for Como).
Udinese have won their last two Serie A matches against Como; only once have the Friulians strung together three consecutive wins in the competition against them (between March 1981 and April 1982, under Enzo Ferrari).
Como have never won against Udinese in nine away Serie A matches (D3 L6); only against Napoli have Como played more away games (11) without ever winning.
PLAYERS
Lorenzo Lucca has been involved in three goals in his last five league games (two goals, one assist), as many as in his previous 16 Serie A matches in 2024 (one goal and two assists).
Andrea Belotti has been involved in 11 goals against Udinese in Serie A (seven goals and four assists); only against Sassuolo (12) and Cagliari (13) has he had a hand in more goals in the top-flight.
