&lt;p&gt;20 Serie A TIM sides, 20 from Serie B, four from Serie C and only one winner. The 72nd Coppa Italia Frecciarossa final is all set with Fiorentina taking on Inter.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The trophy, which will be lifted by one of the sides in Rome, has a long and glorious history: the original cup from the first-ever edition – won by Vado in 1922 - was destroyed during the 20-year reign under Fascism. Likewise, the trophies used between 1936 and 1943 and 1958 to 1959, which had a very different design to the current one used today, was also ruined and replaced.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The cup seen today was first used in 1960; it is made from pure gold and remains with the winning team for a full year, before being returned to Lega Serie A in exchange of a copy to display in the trophy cabinet.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;As well as the cup, the victors also get the chance to adorn a cockade made up of the Italian flag colours with a red external circle, followed by white and then green, stitched for the first time on Lazio shirts in the 1958/59 season following their success in the previous year’s edition.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In the competition’s history, there have been 16 different winners, from Vado as the first-ever holders, in the 1922 edition, to last year’s champions, Inter. Juventus have the most titles to their name with 14 (with a record of four consectutive trophies from 2015 to 2018), followed by Roma with nine, Inter with eight and Lazio with seven. Instead, Fiorentina and Napoli have won it six times.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;div class=&#34;hm-image-wys&#34;&gt;&lt;img src=&#34;https://img.legaseriea.it/vimages/646c84c9/L1010424.jpg&#34; alt=&#34;L1010424.jpg&#34; style=&#34;display: block; margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; margin-bottom: 16px; max-width: 100%; width: auto; pointer-events: none;&#34;&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Regardless of who lifts the trophy, a domestic double won’t be achieved this year following Napoli winning the Scudetto. Although with the Conference and Champions League finals, a double can happen. In the 2002/03 season, AC Milan won both the Coppa Italia and Champions League, as did Inter in 2009/10. But in that season, the Nerazzurri club went one further and became the only Italian side to complete a treble, adding the Scudetto title to the aforementioned cup successes. If the Viola were to win both finals they are competing in this season, they would be the first team to ever do a Coppa Italia Frecciarossa and Conference League win double (after doing so in the Cup Winners’ Cup and Coppa Italia in the 1960/61 season).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Winner of the first edition in 1922, Vado, and Napoli in 1961/62, are the only two sides to have won the competition whilst not participating in Serie A TIM.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Concerning centre-forwards in the cup, the all-time leading scorer is Alessandro Altobelli with 56 goals, followed by Roberto Boninsegna with 48 and Giuseppe Savoldi with 47. Of current players, the ranking lists the trio of Piatek, Immobile and Dybala all on top with 12 goals. For Fiorentina, their highest scorer in the competition is Batistuta with 24 to his name, and for Inter, obviously, Altobelli with 46. In a single edition, Gianluca Vialli scored the most number of goals: 13 in the 1988/89 season for Sampdoria.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Roberto Mancini is the player with the most appearances (120 games), closely followed by Bergomi on 119 (all with Inter) and Vierchowod on 116. Way ahead of current players plying their trade is Leonardo Bonucci with 47 appearances, ahead of Buffon (40) and De Silvestri (39). For Fiorentina, leading the way is Giancarlo Antognoni with 60 games under his belt, while in the hotseat, Trapattoni (157), Liedholm (145) and Mazzone (142) have managed the most number of games.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Roberto Mancini again, together with Gigi Buffon, is the recordman for games won as a player, with six trophies lifted. Adding two more as a Coach, the current Italy Head Coach has eight Coppa Italia successes to his name.
